My wife has been employed as a licensed RN, full time for the same hospital for the last 17+ years. She has received only excellent performance reviews and exemplary attendance and punctuality throughout her employment.
Her employer is now considering requiring all staff to receive the swine flu vaccine. It has been mentioned that if an employee were to refuse the vaccine, they could possibly be terminated, or be required to accept a no-pay leave of absence in the event of any patient testing positive for the swine flu being admitted to their facility.
Does an employer have the right to demand vaccination compliance, even though there are possible serious and deadly side effects? Also, long term testing has not been possible because of pandemic fears.
Thank you,

You may want to contact James Peters directly on this issue. I for one will get the swine flu vaccine as soon as it comes out. This flu is deadly and they are expecting a pandemic.

I would rather take my chances with a vaccine than without.
